纽约，2025年9月22日 —— 在联合国大会堂举行的高级别纪念活动上，联合国秘书长安东尼奥·古特雷斯发表讲话，呼吁各国重燃联合国成立之初的希望之火，以团结和勇气应对全球危机。

回顾联合国使命

贝尔伯克强调：“今天不是庆祝时刻，而是铭记教训、选择希望的时刻。”她呼吁各国在危机面前选择对话而非分裂，行动而非自满。她向全球普通人致敬——从冒着风险在加沙运送食物的援助人员，到为阿富汗女童提供教育的人们——他们的行动证明了联合国团结力量。

本届大会以“同心协力”为主题，传达的不只是口号，而是代代相传的真理。贝尔伯克表示：“联合国的旗帜并不完美，但只要我们携手同行，它必将更加美好。”

New York, September 22, 2025 — In a high-level commemorative event at the United Nations General Assembly Hall, Secretary-General António Guterres addressed world leaders, urging nations to rekindle the hope that inspired the UN’s founding and to confront today’s global crises with courage and solidarity.

Reflecting on the UN’s Mission

Guterres noted that the UN’s first-generation staff included survivors of war who brought their personal experiences and scars to the cause of peace. “Peace is not naïve idealism—it is the bravest, most pragmatic, and indispensable pursuit,” he said.

He warned that the UN faces unprecedented challenges today: civilians under attack in Gaza, Ukraine, and Sudan; global poverty and hunger; and climate-driven disasters, including fires, floods, and extreme heat. “We must not only defend the UN, but strengthen it,” Guterres emphasized. He highlighted that the 2030 Agenda, the Future of the UN Charter, and the UN 80th Anniversary Initiative aim to rebuild the foundations of international cooperation and promote global well-being.

Guterres also reviewed the UN’s historic achievements, including the eradication of smallpox, repair of the ozone layer, and prevention of a third world war. He cautioned that the next eighty years will bring both familiar and new challenges—conflict and poverty persist, but we must also tackle climate crises, technological risks, space militarization, and unforeseen threats.

UNGA President: Remember Lessons, Choose Hope

UN General Assembly President Annalena Baerbock reminded nations of the UN Charter’s original purpose. She noted that eighty years ago, the world endured widespread death and colonial oppression. “The Charter represents a solemn pledge by nations to prevent destruction driven by hatred and ambition,” she said.

Baerbock emphasized: “Today is not a moment for celebration—it is a moment to remember lessons and choose hope.” She called on nations to respond to crises with dialogue rather than division, action rather than complacency. She paid tribute to ordinary people worldwide—from aid workers delivering food in Gaza to educators supporting Afghan girls—demonstrating the power of UN-inspired solidarity.

The 80th UNGA adopted the theme “United in Action,” conveying a truth passed across generations. Baerbock stated, “The UN flag may not be perfect, but together we can make it stronger and brighter.”

The commemorative event highlighted that, even after eight decades, the United Nations remains a vital beacon for global cooperation, peace, and collective action.
