Track Nepal Promotes Guangxi Intangible Cultural Heritage at the United Nations High-Level Political Forum
New York, July 10, 2026 — During the 2026 United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF), Track Nepal, a non-governmental organization in Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), successfully co-hosted the 2026 Guangxi Sanyuesan – "Voices of Home Around the World" Guangxi Intangible Cultural Heritage Exchange Event at United Nations Headquarters, in partnership with the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and the American Fujian Chinese Association, among other collaborating organizations.The event demonstrated Track Nepal's commitment to promoting intercultural dialogue, international friendship, and sustainable development through the universal language of culture. It brought together diplomats, representatives of international organizations, members of the overseas Chinese community, and distinguished guests from around the world to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of Guangxi and strengthen mutual understanding among nations.The program featured traditional Guangxi ethnic performances, exhibitions of intangible cultural heritage, interactive cultural experiences, artistic exchanges, and a special photo exhibition, "The Flying Tigers in Guangxi," highlighting the enduring friendship between the Chinese and American peoples during World War II.More than one hundred guests attended the event, including representatives of United Nations Member States, diplomatic missions, international organizations, and community leaders. Among the distinguished speakers were Mr. You Yize, Deputy Consul General of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in New York; Ms. Chen Jieying, Vice Chairwoman of the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and Chairwoman of the Guangxi Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese; Mr. Lester Chang, Member of the New York State Assembly; Mr. Li Hua, President of the American Fujian Chinese Association; and Ms. Winny Power, Chief Representative of Track Nepal to the United Nations.In her welcoming remarks, Winny Power emphasized that culture is one of the most effective bridges connecting peoples and civilizations. She reaffirmed Track Nepal's commitment to working with governments, United Nations agencies, international organizations, and strategic partners to expand cultural exchange, educational cooperation, youth engagement, and international partnerships in support of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.Ms. Chen Jieying introduced Guangxi's diverse ethnic traditions, breathtaking natural landscapes, and remarkable social and economic development. She expressed her hope that the "Guangxi Sanyuesan" cultural brand would continue to reach global audiences through the United Nations platform and contribute to deeper international cultural cooperation.Mr. Li Hua highlighted the important role of overseas Chinese communities in promoting people-to-people diplomacy and preserving Chinese cultural heritage abroad. He noted that cultural exchange serves as a bridge of friendship and mutual understanding, while the legacy of the Flying Tigers continues to symbolize the enduring friendship between the peoples of China and the United States.During the event, New York State Assembly Member Lester Chang presented official New York State Assembly Citations to the Guangxi Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, the American Fujian Chinese Association, and Track Nepal, recognizing their outstanding contributions to international cultural exchange, community engagement, and the promotion of mutual understanding through the United Nations platform.Participants agreed that cultural heritage plays a vital role in fostering dialogue among civilizations, strengthening international cooperation, and promoting peace through people-to-people exchanges.As an ECOSOC-accredited organization, Track Nepal reaffirmed its commitment to serving as a platform that connects governments, international organizations, civil society, and communities through culture, education, and sustainable development initiatives. The organization will continue to support global partnerships that advance mutual respect, inclusive development, and the shared values of the United Nations.
